While it may be difficult to do, it is necessary to turn your will to God in order to live your best life. As your loving Father in Heaven, He has your best interest in mind, and if you follow His path for you, your life will become more than you ever could imagine. Below are 7 incredible promises that we are given in the Bible if we follow Him.
You Will Find Peace
John 14:27 — Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
In troubled times, God offers his peace. You will be able to let go of your worry and stress, and move forward knowing that everything will work out. It may not be ok right now, but faith is believing that He will help you through it.
You Will Find Yourself
Matthew 10:39 — He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.
Turning your life over to God will help find yourself. You will connect with Him as His child, and find more purpose and meaning than you ever could have before.
You Will Be Guided
Luke 1: 78-79 — 78 Through the tender mercy of our God; whereby the dayspring from on high hath visited us. To give light to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.
When life swirls around you in a remarkable yet terrible tempest, trusting in God will make it so that you can navigate through safely. If you allow your will to become His will, He will guide you along the best possible path for you to grow and bless others. He knows what He is doing, and if you let Him guide you, your life will be far greater than it ever could have been on your own.
You Will Be Able to Forgive
Ephesians 4:32 — And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.
When you turn your will to God, you will be able to let go of any hate or anger in your heart and forgive. If you have been hurt or injured by someone in your past, the power of Christ will help you forgive them. It is important to remember that forgiveness is not excusing the act, rather, it is freeing yourself from being a victim of another person’s actions.
You Will Be Healed
Isaiah 53:5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
Christ can heal whatever ails you: a physical sickness, a broken heart, or even sour disposition. His power is greater than all — you just need to have faith. However, part of turning your will to God is being willing to say “But if not.” He can heal you, but sometimes, He has a different plan.
There might be something that He wants you to learn, or He wants you to be able to use our experience to help others later.
You Will Have Strength Beyond Your Own
Matthew 11:28-30 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
Philippians 4:13 — I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
Trying to navigate this life without God by your side is an incredibly difficult experience. Life is hard — there is no sugar coating that. However, once you turn your will towards God and lean on Him for support, you will find that things will be a little easier. Not that you won’t have any trials, but that you will be able to handle whatever comes your way.
You Will Have Eternal Life
John 3:15 — That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
One of the greatest promises that God has given is that we will have eternal life if we trust in Him. Christ gave up His life so that we all can live again, and live with Him in heaven. How great and how glorious is that promise!
